For those who have attended one of our Exploration Sessions or for those who already own their own VR Headset, you will already understand that Virtual Reality is already changing the 20th – Early 21st Century passive way of ‘watching’ other people on a 2D screen into a progressive, 3D immersive way of participating in the action.
The Video games and VR games industry has led the way so that kids growing up nowadays are used to entertainment that is participative and 3D.
VR Club is leading the way in 2023 to provide participatory opportunities for adults wanting to learn about, gain confidence in using and acquiring skills in the use of VR apps for serious real life participation in 3D as well as for providing a new kind of entertainment and levels of social interaction.
Instead of spending hours of our lives passively watching others on TV game shows, or in detective dramas, for example, we want to bring you into the action. Solve the murder yourself by interacting with others in a role-playing, exciting series of sessions whose outcome is influenced by your participation. Compete with others in popular game shows while you are all recorded for other members of your family to watch and delight in at their leisure.
At VR Club we believe that participatory, immersive 3D activities are going to take over from inactive, couch-potato, brain-numbing TV watching in the next few years.
That means that there will be massive opportunities to learn and help develop new VR activities. VR Club exists to encourage and assist its members to take full advantage in this early stage of a technological revolution.
By working with others who are on the same journey we can all learn and progress so much more easily than on our own, in isolation.
Each week we will be hosting a one hour session on a Wednesday morning which can only be attended by members using their own devices. Initially they will be for the sole objective of getting used to the Spatial app and helping you design your own spaces.
Spatial can be accessed from a Windows PC or Mac by downloading the relevant software. Better still, you may already have decided to purchase a VR headset, so will be able to experience the full immersive experience of the app for yourself. It has to be said that using a Windows PC or Mac can allow you to join in the shared conversation and will give you a sense of the group you are joining within the VR environment, yet it will be a 2D experience of a 3D world, and you will not get the same experience of a distraction-free, immersive, shared experience with real people.
In some of our sessions we will be focussed on trying out new scenarios, like the game show and detective role-play dramas we discussed earlier. These fun sessions will take full advantage of the interactive, co-operative and immersive benefits that VR Sessions offer to make the participatory experience really come alive.

Although the primary focus of VR Club is to assist in the business and organisational opportunities of VR apps we are aware that all Club Members have families and hobbies so may be interested in exploring more social, artistic, and travel based apps.
For example, apps are now available to create a complete art studio with paint-brushes, canvases, different types of paint and palettes to mix them on. For those with limited space at home or limited funds to purchase all these materials, a Virtual Art Studio could provide many hours of satisfaction and delight. Pottery, Sculpting and other crafts are also beginning to appear in the app stores.
For those involved in Amateur Dramatic Societies, having the opportunity to rehearse a performance, once the lines have been learned, in an appropriate virtual space, each actor working from home, could save a lot of travel time and expense.
Disabled and infirm family members may have their lives improved dramatically through being able to meet up with others and move in a Virtual World in ways that they cannot do in the Real World.
For those with families spread out geographically events such as weddings and funerals could bring more of the family together and prove a lot less costly if a Virtual Event were available as well as a Real Event.
Researching for a holiday destination using VR apps with 360 degree tours could prove helpful as well as checking out a location and its surrounding area for a possible house move.
Even simply being able to play a game of table tennis or chess in a 3D space with one’s grand-children on the other side of the world may bring joy into the hearts of some of our members.
As you can see, VR is opening up a whole host of new possibilities for our lives and VR Club fully intends to provide its members with hints, tips and skills in whatever direction our members wish to take us in.
