About VR Club

VR Club exists in order to bring the many benefits of using Virtual Reality  to businesses, organizations and families throughout the world. Our Head Office is based in Lancaster, UK at Fraser House Hub, White Cross and our plan for late 2023 is to expand by offering franchises to entrepreneurs in different cities and countries. Each city will have its own website and both businesses and organisations within those cities will be able to list their details on the relevant website to help them reach out to others with their own plans for using VR.

This website is for the City of Lancaster and only individuals residing in this area over the age of 18 may register an account on it. Anyone else should contact us through our contact us page so that you may express your interest and we can keep you informed as new franchises open up. Although it is possible to join in VR experiences using your PC, laptop or even smartphone, many of the benefits of this type of experience can only be maximised by using a specially designed headset. In order to allow people to experience this difference we make it easy for people to find out for themselves what it is like to become immersed within a virtual space, connecting with others and forming new alliances and collaborations.

To those who are entirely new to VR Headsets we offer Exploration Sessions at which we provide headsets for you to use and an indoor office space with fibre optic broadband connections to try out one or more VR experiences. Links to be able to book these sessions along with times available can be found on our Events Page. Most of our experiences are aimed at free members although some, for example, in the Keep Fit and Sports Category are exclusive to paid VR Club Members only.

The purpose of Exploration Sessions is to allow you to see how far this technology has already come since you tried it the last time.  Many people who try out VR for the first time are truly amazed at the quality of 3D and Virtual Animations and tell us they had no idea we had moved on so far from the days that they went to a 3D cinema and wore red and green cardboard glasses to watch Superman fight the alien invaders!

The experiences of VR are not just about the headsets, which are the hardware, they are also about the software that runs on them, or in other words, the Apps. We pre-install many different Apps on each headset and will guide you to your chosen experience, by telling you which App you should choose and how to navigate to this experience within the App. This is all part of our service to you, to guide and facilitate your experience and to assist you if you need help during it.

The point of you choosing to undergo one of our Exploration Sessions is not simply to entertain, educate, train or inform you, although this alone may be extraordinarily beneficial to you. It is also to allow you to see the potential of this category of experience within your own business or organisation. By seeing examples of the type of experiences that other organisations, such as Oxford University, the United Nations, Architects, Town Planners, Musicians, Estate Agents, Tourist Boards, Training Companies and Product Manufacturers, for example, have already developed using VR Apps to help achieve their aims and objectives, then this could trigger, in your own mind, new avenues for obtaining business advantage for yourself using this new technology.

Part of the purpose of VR Club, therefore, is to stimulate and develop new ideas and help nurture these within our members in order to help us all bring them to fruition and build a better world. For example, developing ways to cut down on unnecessary travel and so reducing our carbon footprints. Another example, saving unnecessary waste of materials and land use by prototyping and development of new products through 3D design and modelling in virtual space. These new technologies carry with them the promise of greater efficiencies and greater collaboration. If they could also bring greater equality socially and financially that could also bring great benefit to the world’s peoples.

For those who wish to join us either from within their own headsets or from their PC, laptop or smartphone, then you are welcome to  become members of VR Club in order to benefit from the wide range of opportunities that this could open up to you.  Again, at the moment, this is only available for adults over 18 living in the Lancaster area of the UK.
